Responsibilities
- Define and evolve cloud infrastructure strategy (with emphasis on AWS), ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and cost-efficient.
- Provide architectural guidance on Kubernetes/EKS clusters, container orchestration, and workload optimization.
- Lead the design and adoption of CI/CD pipelines and related automation for consistent, reliable software delivery.
- Establish and enforce monitoring, observability, and alerting standards, including logging, metrics, tracing, and actionable alerts.
- Partner with teams to define SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets that align with customer and business needs.
- Drive best practices in infrastructure as code (IaC), configuration management, and automated environment provisioning.
- Support teams in building highly available, fault-tolerant, and disaster-resilient systems across multiple regions.
- Mentor engineers and tech-leads across Filevine on reliability principles, performance optimization, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Cloud-Native Infrastructure (AWS): Deep knowledge of designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on AWS services.
- Proficiency in Kubernetes/EKS and Container Orchestration: Extensive experience with Kubernetes (particularly AWS EKS) for container orchestration, workload optimization, and managing distributed systems.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Strong skills in implementing and advocating for IaC practices, including tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, for automated and repeatable environment provisioning.
- CI/CD Pipeline Design and Automation: Proven ability to design, build, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable consistent, reliable, and automated software delivery processes.
- Observability and Monitoring Expertise: In-depth knowledge of establishing monitoring, observability, and alerting systems, including logging, metrics, tracing, and actionable alerts to ensure system reliability.
- Defining SLOs, SLIs, and Error Budgets: Experience in partnering with teams to define service-level objectives (SLOs), service-level indicators (SLIs), and error budgets that align with enterprise-scale customer and business requirements.
