Responsibilities
- Content Surveillance: Proactively monitor federal (USCIS) and state court websites for updates to critical legal forms, ensuring Filevine is never behind on compliance.
- AI Validation: Review and validate the output of our "AI auto-mapping" models, correcting logic errors and ensuring fields map correctly to Filevine project data (e.g., verifying that "Alien Registration Number" maps to the correct database field).
- Spec Creation: Translate complex legal form logic (e.g., "If box A is checked, page 4 is required") into clear, actionable technical specifications for the engineering team.
- Support Coordination: Act as the primary liaison for the Support and Implementation teams, creating documentation and training materials to resolve customer form issues without escalating to engineering.
- Golden Dataset Management: Curate and maintain the "Golden Datasets" (perfectly filled example forms) used by QA to test the system before every release.
- Risk Mitigation: Conduct final compliance checks on high-stakes forms (like Immigration I-140s) to prevent "P1 incidents" and reduce operational risk for our enterprise clients.
- Process Optimization: Use AI tools to rapidly compare old vs. new PDF versions and generate change logs, reducing the time it takes to spec a new form by 70%+.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Political Science, or related field (or equivalent paralegal experience).
- 3+ years of experience as a Paralegal, Legal Operations Specialist, or in a compliance role, preferably with exposure to Immigration, Family Law, or Workers Comp.
- Technical Aptitude: Comfort working with data mapping, Excel/spreadsheets, and learning new software tools. You don't need to code, but you need to understand logic (If/Then statements).
- Attention to Detail: Uncompromising standards for accuracy. You will be the final line of defense before a form goes to a lawyer.
- AI/Tech Curiosity: A strong desire to use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, specialized legal AI) to summarize documents and automate research tasks.
- Communication: Ability to explain complex legal requirements to technical software engineers clearly and concisely.
- Agile Familiarity: 1 to 3 years experience working with product or engineering teams in an agile/scrum environment is a plus.
