Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive public relations strategy aligned with Filevine's brand, growth stage, and market positioning

  • Own media relations across legal, legal tech, and B2B tech verticals—building and maintaining strong relationships with journalists, analysts, and influencers

  • Oversee Filevine's social media function, providing strategic direction to the social team to ensure channel presence, tone, and content align with overall brand and communications strategy"

  • Serve as a strategic communications advisor to the executive team, including CEO, CPO, and other senior leaders

  • Lead crisis communications planning and response, leveraging legal expertise to assess risk and craft messaging under pressure

  • Drive thought leadership initiatives including executive bylines, speaking engagements, awards, and industry recognitions

  • Partner with the Growth & Marketing teams on integrated campaigns, product launches, and brand moments that require earned media amplification

  • Build and scale the PR function, including agency relationships, internal processes, and reporting frameworks

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on media coverage, sentiment, and share of voice; use data to inform strategy

  • Represent Filevine at industry conferences, legal association events, and media opportunities

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) strong preferred, the only alternative considered is deep legal experience

  • 6+ years of public relations experience, with significant tenure in legal, legal tech, or enterprise SaaS environments

  • Demonstrated track record of building and executing communications programs that shape brand narrative and earn top-tier media coverage

  • Deep familiarity with the legal industry—law firm culture, legal operations, or legal technology adoption cycles

  • Strong executive presence with the ability to advise C-suite leaders and represent the company externally

  • Experience managing PR / Social agencies and internal communications teams

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex legal and technical concepts for a broad audience

  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment where strategy and execution go hand-in-hand
