The team

The Route Solutions Engineering team is at the cross function of business and product development and are the subject matter experts that know all of the products and technologies inside Route. Throughout the sales lifecycle, we support sales by answering technical questions, developing and presenting product solutions, product demos, proof of concepts and custom software solutions to clients.

The opportunity

As an Implementation Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring that Route’s product and features are properly implemented on our partner merchants’ e-commerce stores. Every day matters at Route and you will play a key role in decreasing our merchant partners' "time to revenue" through an efficient and successful implementation. The person in this role will work in a highly cross-functional setting, working in harmony with account managers, support experience reps, sales executives, and software engineers and act as the primary technical resource to ensure Route is properly implemented.

The ideal candidate for this role has web programming experience, preferably in the e-commerce space. The candidate also should have experience explaining technical concepts in easy-to-digest ways to someone who may not have a technical background and have a proven track record of working closely with clients. As someone joining the company during a hyper-growth era, you will play a pivotal role in driving that growth by helping merchants implement Route’s product and features.

What you’ll do

• Implementing the Route’s products and features on merchant e-commerce sites.
• Collaborate closely with Account Executives to work with merchant partners to make sure Route’s products and features are seamlessly integrated with their customers’ purchase experience.
• Partner with support engineers to troubleshoot issues and problem-solve to realize an optimal implementation outcome and experience for merchants.
• Utilizing Salesforce and Jira to manage the merchant progress through the implementation lifecycle.
• Prioritizing and managing the implementation queue.
• Resolve escalated issues related to implementation.
• Refining and improving processes.
• Lead implementation calls with merchants, explaining difficult technical terms in simplified, easy-to-digest ways, and making sure concerns are addressed and resolved.
• Other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for

• 1-2 years of HTML, CSS, and Javascript (or equivalent coding language).
• Strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness.
• Experience working in collaborative environments and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders.
• Extraordinary attention to detail; translating and communicating details and complex ideas in a simple and easy to understand way.
• The ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge
• Embody a culture of innovation, transparency, discovery, and collaboration.
• BS/BA degree in information systems, computer science, or a similar technical field, preferred but not required.

Pay Transparency

Salary for this role: $66,000 -$76,000

The cash compensation above includes base salary, and is not reflective of potential commission for employees in eligible roles, or annual bonus targets under Route’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, all Route employees are eligible to participate in Routes equity incentive plan to receive stock options per the terms of the agreement. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their career level, skills, experience, specific geographic location qualifications and other job-related reasons.
